Joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1988 with the objective of public service; to add positive value to the lives of a large number of people. Working in several sectors across the State of Maharashtra, primarily in Revenue administration, Urban Development, Development administration and Taxation has provided this opportunity in ample measure. 
 
Won the Satyen Mitra award for the Best Adult Literacy Programme in the country in 1998 for Sangli district. The state level first prize for work in the Social Development sector in 1994 for Pune district. The National e-Governance first prize for full computerization of the land transactions in the Registration Department in 2002. The state level first prize for e-Governance initiatives in the Sales Tax department in 2013. International recognition for automated building plan approval system developed at the Pune Municipal Corporation.  
 
Passionate about Policy planning, Business process re-engineering and eGovernance for fair, simple and transparent governance to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and effectively to the people. The focus has been on building systems for better service delivery with minimum interface and lesser chances of harassment and for proper implementation of social sector schemes for empowerment of the people in all departments.

At the policy level, in Urban Development Department, my effort has been to rejuvenate spatial planning, prepare coordinated and flexible plans, delegation and decentralisation, identifying growth corridors and developing them, establishing policies and principles for proper urban planning with an emphasis on people, mobility and services. The focus in the Revenue Department has been to move towards fully online registration, faster and accurate land measurement and creating dynamic linkages between registration, land measurement and land records and to move towards Land Title System.   
 
The focus in the current assignment in the Finance department is for integrated financial management, easy fund flow systems, revenue augmentation, higher capital expenditure and better debt management system.  
 
Successfully accomplished a special assignment Ford Foundation project of “Functional Review of 17 Government Departments as Chief Consultant.” Closely involved in sports promotion activities for Chess, Tennis, Squash.
